This exhibition was due to be held from 18th Mar -18th of April 2020 but was postponed due to the first Covid-19 lockdown in England. It was eventually able to open in July 2020 and was open for a month. It was curated by Patricia Brien.

I was delighted to have my series of 5 Pillars of fire, pillars of rage selected for the second iteration of 'Incendiary' at Pound Arts. Here they are, in all their glory!

I was very pleased that I was able to hang them as I did. The curator, Patricia Brien, the arts coordinator, Katie Ackrill and I had had many emails about how I could hang them, as there was no obvious solution. However, I came up with the idea of using steel wire tensioned with turnbuckles... and it worked. It was worried that it was rather beyond my technical skills, but I did it, they stayed up... and I think they look stunning.

It's definitely good news for future installations as it's very flexible, although I'm not so keen on the wires. Maybe they would need to be part of the work too. I was very glad to have the chance to trial it.

I was setting up with half of the artists and the rest were setting up the next day. However, as the day passed the news of the covid-19 lockdown was unfolding and just as I leftafter 5pm, the Prime Minister made an announcement so that we had to cancel the Private View that day.  Despite this uncertainty, the other artists set their work up too. Unfortunately, the show was not able to then, but it did open for a month in the summer instead.

Fortunately, Patricia and Katie were able to do a walk through video interview:
