26 Nov. - 24 Dec. 2022

This was the pilot of A Visible THREAD, an exhibition with seam collective at ACEArts, Somerton, Somerset.

seam collective was selected for a month-long research residency at The Holburne Open, supported by The Holburne Museum, Bath. The residency took place at The Edge Gallery at the University of Bath in March 2022. We used the space, time and opportunity to work together as a collective to research and trial ideas for this exhibition. We challenged ourselves to make new work based around the theme of making thread visible. We are hoping to tour different iterations of this exhibition to a number of galleries in 2023-24.

I made 5 new stitched sculptures for this exhibition, using a selection of my parents' sheets and towels and parts of some old sculptures. I called them Transitional objects. I also installed a few of my newly knitted red sculptures, part of the ongoing series Red is the colour of... 2, 2022,  at the top of the stairs.
