seam collective's A Visible THREAD exhibition, Thelma Hulbert Gallery, Honiton, 20 July -31 August 2024.

This is the final iteration of the Arts Council-funded 4-venue exhibition tour in the South West of England. We also did a bonus A Visible THREAD exhibition at Wirth Gallery at Sherborne Girls' School in Sherborne, Dorset in January 2024. The official tour began in May 2023 and will finish at the end of August 2024. It's been wonderful to be part of it.

Have a look at the blog post I've written about the beginning of the exhibition for the seam website; it really is A Visible THREAD; the grand finale!

And here's a short walkthrough video:

I'm very pleased that I have been able to exhibit all of the new sculptures I have made over the past couple of years in response to seam's theme 'A Visible THREAD' for this final exhibition; Transitional objects and Stash

Transitional objects

Here they are installed at Thelma Hulbert Gallery!

This video, made for and shown in the exhibition, describes the ideas behind to my Transitional objects:

I have also written an in-depth blog post for seam about Transitional objects here:

Busting someone else's stash: on collecting, sustainability and grief

Here's Stash, installed at Thelma Hulbert Gallery:

And I've written about it here: Stash busting and shapeshifting

Here's a video about Stash as a shapeshifter
